The pochette: a luxury accessory for an unforgettable night!
The pochette is the perfect accessory to complement a luxury evening dress, the refined fusion of style and glamour, the most faithful ally of every woman attending a special event, who wants to look sensual and chic but also fresh and dynamic.
Very small and discreet, the pochette is, for every woman, a secret container to jealously guard all her beauty secrets: her blusher, lipstick and eyeshadow, and even a small mirror and some tissues.
This accessory, small in size but big on luxury and charm, perfectly enhances every woman’s look, giving her natural brightness and a touch of undisputed sensuality, thanks to its perfect finishing and decoration.
Because the pochette, which has its own timeless style and is never out of fashion, will this winter be incredibly fashionable when richly of decorated, with sequins and jewel-buttons everywhere, as suggested by many world renowned Italian and foreign brands in their collections at the latest fall-winter 2010/2011 fashion parades.
The pochette of the coming winter season will be very small but absolutely gorgeous and chic, like a precious shining jewel to wear with pride and satisfaction.
While some designers propose luxury ultra-decorated pochettes of silk or satin, best made in the same fabric as the evening dress to create a seamless fusion of clothing and accessories, other designers see the pochette as an independent item and aim to create a separation between it and the dress using high quality leathers for its manufacture, such as python, crocodile or ostrich.
However, no matter whether they are made of fabric or of leather, pochettes represent the MUST HAVE accessory of next winter as far as elegant style is concerned only when they are rich in decoration and all over glitter!
What if you don’t like over-the-top accessories to go with your elegant long dress but prefer a more restrained clutch, which you can also use on other occasions, maybe even wear with jeans or a more casual look?
If you are a refined woman, who loves a classic style without extravagant fashion excess, we suggest you opt for a nice small pochette made of brown or black leather (both these colors are newly confirmed as the essential colors of this winter for the elegant evening look) lightening it with a gorgeous gold or silver fine chain strap which will certainly give you brightness and refinement wherever you are.
That doesn’t mean that you should necessarily wear your pochette on the shoulder just because it has a shoulder strap, but, on the contrary, you can play with it, creating your own original style. You could clasp your pochette in your hand, letting the strap dangle to your hips or simply wrap the strap around your wrist like a precious bracelet, so that you look absolutely gorgeous in your elegant dress but still keep your clutch safely at your side.
You can of course wear your pochette on the shoulder if you find it more practical, but never wear a pochette across the body because, according to most designers, this solution is inelegant and vulgar, especially worn with a long evening dress.
While the style of the pochette should absolutely be classic and elegantly chic, colors can vary, according to the tonality of the evening dress it is worn with. The most popular shades are gold and silver (symbol of undisputed glamour and refinement), bronze, classic black, brown, or natural grey with Swarovski stones.
However, if you want to look original and unique even in an elegant context, you can choose to buy a handbag in a fluorescent, metallic color so that nobody will be able to help noticing and appreciating your style and you’ll never be in any danger of losing your precious friend.
On the other hand, if you are a big fan of old American movies and in particular of the divine actress Audrey Hepburn, you should know that Tiffany & Co, the specialist jewellers who create fabulous, precious (but also very expensive) jewels, have conceived a new model of pochette inspired by the figure of Holly, the protagonist of the famous movie “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, played by Audrey Hepburn herself.
The clutch has been called Holly and it is really very elegant and refined, made in satin or in genuine crocodile and embellished by a metallic closure with the Tiffany logo.
