Alta Roma fashion parade 2011
Luxury and style, crystal and lace for a gorgeous woman
Some days ago, from July the 8th to July the 11th, the historic beauty of Rome created the perfect backdrop for the 19th edition of Alta Roma Alta Moda fashion kermesse, a Must for all lovers of Italian fashion shows (and not only them).
Designers taking part in this event to show their personal creations for next fall-winter 2011-2012 haute couture, focused their collections on the details, given that it’s precisely these accessories that add light and shine to a woman’s look, so she feels special and sensual at night as well as during the day.
Lace, decorations, sequins, crystals and gorgeous fabrics are the main ingredients for a successful style, rich in elegance and charm.
While some fashion designers, such as Tony Ward or Guglielmo Mariotto for Gattinoni, are mainly inspired by three–dimensional cuts and lines, others, such as Renato Balestra, are influenced by the world of nature, the key element of all his collections is the Rose, appearing everywhere.
While the day look advocates the warm suit, knee length skirts and pleated trousers, woman transforms into a sexy and absolutely elegant creature at night, wearing long dresses of organza and lace, with split skirts enhancing her perfect legs.
Next winter season 2011/2012, according to what was presented by designers at the “Alta Roma, Alta Moda” fashion event, is really colorful, even though these collections too, once again, proclaim a huge success for white and black, two very classic tonalities that seem to be enjoying a second youth at the moment thanks to their undisputed elegance and unmistakable luxury.
But, let’s now focus our attention on some of the most interesting collections presented here at the 19th edition of Alta Roma Alta Moda, to discover what styles will dominate the fashion panorama of next fall-winter 2011-2012.
Lettieri’s collection is entitled “Luxury” because he adopts luxury fabrics for the manufacture of his designs, going from Chantilly lace to shiny organza used for the creation of flowers in relief, further decorated with crystals. Beautifully crafted details make this collection an explosion of luxury and elegance. The prevailing color is black, sometimes mixed with white both for the day look and for evening wear. The only variation on these two classic tonalities is powder pink, another very gorgeous shade, light but extremely refined.
Renato Balestra, creates a collection inspired by the rose, as a symbolic flower denoting elegance and pure beauty. The rose is a very delicate flower like Balestra’s woman, an ethereal creature revealing her elegance in every tiniest detail. Suits, wool coats, trousers, jackets: everything is enriched with inlaid flowers, so that you can almost believe that you can smell the roses themselves. The evening look is studded with sequins, pearls and floral decorations. The most fashionable colors? But black and white, of course, followed by electric blue, pink, orange, red, green, light gold, ivory and cobalt blue.
Gold and silver are the main protagonists of the latest Tony Ward collection, aiming to represent the three-dimensional fashion style, even though he doesn’t disdain more classic tonalities such as red, black, white, light pink, grey, blue or bordeaux to complete his woman’s look. Evening dresses are long but with sensual split skits, or they are above the knee but enriched with ruches and draperies. Lines and finishing are beautifully detailed, to create a collection revealing a sense of peace and harmony.
Raffaella Curiel, through her collection, gives homage to the great painter Manet, embellishing the woman with bows, flowers and plumage. Green, blue and red are the prevailing tonalities, on jackets enhancing the slim waist line and with velvet lapels recalling a masculine style, or on medium length skirts and pleated trousers.
The evening look, on the other hand, is characterized by long dresses with corsets, in very light tulle or taffeta and decorated with embroideries and pearls.
The most suitable colors for the elegant evening style according to Ms Curiel? Green, gold, red, turtledove, grey and blue.
Inspired by three-dimensional graffiti, Guglielmo Mariotto, creative director for Gattinoni, creates architectural women’s dresses, studded with crystals and precious stones. Skirts are made of chiffon while lines are exuberant and absolutely captivating.
Evening dresses are long, with fringes in organza and leather, enriched by significant jewels further enhancing the woman sensual side.
Unlike the other protagonists of this 19th edition of “Alta Roma, Alta Moda”, Mariotto sends her model down the catwalk clasping very small but gorgeous clutches in strong tonalities such as coral red, ruby red or yellow, while the day look imposes the use of very small handbags to hold in the hand by their single silver brass handle.
The most used colors are white and black, but also silver and gold, two tonalities reminiscent of a moonscape.
Gattinoni’s collection is mainly aimed at strong and self-confident women who want to express all their sensuality and creativity also through their look.
